Volunteers, employees and customers of Calgary’s Good4U recycling store were shocked and saddened by the sight that met their eyes this morning.

Over the long weekend, the Good4U store and warehouse was hit by a heartless group of thieves who not only stole used building supplies, artwork, and tools, but they also stole the group’s new Ford E-450 cube van used to run the organization.

GOOD4U is financially independent, we don’t fundraise and we don’t accept grants. We accept and resell furniture, usable household, and building supplies, as well as decor items. Proceeds from the sale of these items go toward meaningful employment and training opportunities for people with physical and mental challenges and untapped abilities.

We’re just starting out in Calgary, and this shocking theft has put our very existence in jeopardy, as these heartless felons took almost everything we have been gathering up over the past few months. We now have an urgent and pressing need for good used furniture and other items for resale at our location.

Donations of good quality used items are gratefully accepted at our store, 1338 36 Ave. N.E. Normally we would pick up anything worth $1000.00 or more, but the burglars stole our van!!!

Tax receipts can be issued to individuals or companies for items valued at $50 or more. Not sure if your donation qualifies? E-mail us at info@good-4u.com with descriptions and photos or send a text message to 403-276-1616.
